Russell Orchards Kitty

Heidi is such a good friend.  She went to her half of Massachusetts this past weekend, went berry picking on the North Shore where she met this cat at the orchard, and sent me its picture.  Very cute!

Scribble and Doodle, My Guardian Angels

About 20 minutes ago I was working productively away on schoolwork when I heard a huge commotion in the kitchen.  Turns out there was a GIANT COCKROACH running around, and Scribble and Doodle were kind enough to try to kill it for me.  Unfortunately, they did not completely kill it, so I had to trap it, put on sneakers, and stomp it to death.  It was incredibly traumatizing, but at least I know my apartment is cockroach free.

Everyone should own a cat!  They are better guardians than dogs.

Ultra-Orthodox Cat?

My good friend Heidi sent me a picture of this cat she found in Borough Park Brooklyn the other day. I wonder if this cat is religious?

City Kitties Travels: Beacon Bill

I know it appears as though there is no cat in this picture, but there is quite a large cat here in this alley way in Beacon Hill in Boston where I went this past weekend for part of my good friend Jenny's bachelorette party.

Chinese Mexican Cat

I met up with some friends from Spain who were in town for the weekend last night and, thanks to my subway which isn't running properly this weekend, I had to walk about a mile home from another train late-ish last night.  The walk wasn't so bad, though, because I saw this little cat in the Chinese Mexican takeout restaurant. (You know, the ones that advertise their fresh tortillas--they look like they'd be terrible, but they are actually delicious, and definitely a true New York City food.)  I went to that takeout once before, but didn't see the cat.  I guess I will have to patronize them more in the future!

Claudius in Weehawken

My good friend Eva, along with her adorable buddy Claudius, moved to Weehawken, New Jersey a couple of months ago.  Eva suggested that perhaps Claudius might need an updated picture on City Kitties, so here he is, hanging out in his new apartment:

Turns out they have a pretty fabulous apartment, including a rooftop deck with an uninterrupted view of Midtown Manhattan.  I was lucky enough to find this out at their 4th of July party this week.  Here is a nice picture, which includes the giant, orange moon that rose over the city that night:
