Pete

Suzy is in Florida right now and sent me this little hungry cat she saw meowing outside a restaurant in St. Petersburg the other day.  I want to give him a cheezburger!

Ersatz Doodle

When I was in Bay Ridge the other day I saw this stuffed animal out of the corner of my eye.  It was making subtle cat-like movements (with a battery, I presume), and I at first thought it was a real Doodle look-alike!  When I got a better look it was clear that it was not a real cat, but it was cute enough anyway.

Black Squirrel

City Kitties is no stranger to other adorable animals.  I have posted in the past a dog, raccoon, bunny, and even koi, so when Heidi sent me a picture of a squirrel asking me to post it I was more than happy to oblige. As per the agreement she and I made, I must now post her captions:

Cobble Hill black squirrel. Um... well, it seems he got a nut!

Nicholas

I, along with this kid, apparently, was very excited to see this chubster sitting outside a health food store in Bay Ridge yesterday.  The store owner explained to me that the cat's name is Nicholas because he found him as a stray two years ago around Christmas.  Nicholas is still learning not to venture too far away from the store, but he regularly visits the Tae Kwon Do school next door.

Mimi

My boyfriend and I were in Bay Ridge yesterday when I noticed this adorable orange kitten playing in her corner store.  Unfortunately, when I went to ask the man working what his cat's name is, he had just taken a huge bite of food and mumbled something unintelligible--it sort of sounded like "Mimi," so, for our purposes, that is her name.

Lotto

So, I was absorbed in a game on my phone on the bus tonight and totally missed my stop.  It's alright, though, because I got off the bus right in front of a corner store that I went into in search of an adult beverage.  They did not have adult beverages (what?!), but they did have Lotto, an adorable cat!

Tibby Reincarnated

I saw this cat this afternoon at Brooklyn College.  He looks a lot like my old cat and best friend, Tibby! >^..^<

Bubdate: Lil Bub Article & Video

The Daily Beast has finally posted its article and video on Lil Bub from her visit to the office on Wednesday. See it here!

Also, as a side note, I posted a Bub picture that Jimmy took to instagram yesterday and it got a record 71 likes!  You should follow City Kitties and like it, too :-D

Lil Bub

Today is a very exciting day for City Kitties: today is the day that I get to post a real celebkitty!!!
Lil Bub is a famous lil cat whose film is premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival this month.  To my great surprise, she (and her human) visited the Daily Beast office, where my wonderful boyfriend works, to promote her movie.  Jimmy got to pet her and take lots of pictures, of course!
Here is her famous tongue hanging out:

Thank you so much, Jimmy!  I truly have the best boyfriend ever :-D

Big House, Lil Cat

The Q train was running all funky this afternoon and was going express in Brooklyn.  It was reasonably nice outside, so I decided just to walk to Brooklyn College from Newkirk Ave. rather than wait for the next Q to come.  I'm glad I did, because I never really end up in Ditmas Park and I had forgotten how nice the huge Victorian houses are.  But I'm also happy I took that walk because I found Lil Cat, who is certainly dwarfed by his big house :-D

Super Fun

Jimmy and I saw this little black cat in Gowanus, Brooklyn the other day.  I named him Super Fun because of where we spotted him, just a block from the Gowanus Canal, a superfund site.  Good thing cats don't like water!  (If the sludge in the canal can be classified as water.)

Molly

Molly is another one of Justin's grandma's cats!  She lives with her brother Mickey in Simi Valley, California.   Something tells me Mickey sneaks a few kibbles out of Molly's food bowl now and then... ;-p

Mickey

My friend Justin sent me this adorable, fluffy fuzzball, Mickey!  Mickey lives in Simi Valley, California with his sister Molly and Justin's grandma.  He looks like he is waiting for a belly rub.

Slopie

Heidi sent me this cat who she found in Brooklyn.  It is being cared for "by Park Slopians."  It is always nice to see an outdoor cat with a bowl of food and know it is being taken care of :-D

Bibbie

Heidi sent me this cute little meow meow the other day.  All I could see in the first picture she sent was her bib, so she sent me a zoomed-in version.

Pooper

Heidi texted me this cat she saw the other day and requested that I included a transcript of our conversation.

Heidi: Bk taxi kit - unfortunately he's taking a poop.
Me: That's freaking hilarious!
Heidi: I violated his cat privacy :/

To be fair, cats definitely want their privacy when they're pooping.

Radar

My boyfriend has such good cat radar.  For every one cat I find, it seems like he finds four!  Here is a cat he noticed Monday morning when he happened to look out my apartment window.  We christened him Radar, to honor Jimmy's sixth sense for finding cats.  Can you see it?

Popovich Pet Theater

Jimmy and I went to see the Popovich Pet Theater a couple weeks ago.  A bunch of dogs, some rats, ducks, and fourteen cats performed!  It was really impressive and cute.  Unfortunately, because I am poor we had nosebleed seats, so here is a not-so-good picture of a cat piggybacking on a dog.

Crazy Christmas Cat: An Update

Do you remember Crazy Christmas Cat?  Well, I certainly do.  And Jimmy spotted him the other day, hanging out at his favorite house on my block!

Cat Colony

Heidi found a colony of cats in Ditmas Park the other day.  Here are a couple.  Meow!

Bath Beach Betty

My parents and I were walking through Bath Beach this morning when my mom noticed Bath Beach Betty.  Betty couldn't decide if she wanted to sunbathe or not, so she sat partially in the sun, partially in the van's shadow.

Chaperone Cat

My Dad and I spotted this cat on 81st Street in Bensonhurst yesterday afternoon.  It's owner was out chatting with a friend on the sidewalk, so it was keeping a close eye on her.

Doodle's Cousin

Doodle has a relative on 79th Street in Bensonhurst, apparently!  I saw this little orange tuxedo cat this afternoon while walking back from Lioni's with my parents.

Tacky Metal Cat

I took a different walking route home from the pet store the other day after picking up some cat food when I discovered a house on 85th Street decorated with an insane number of pop-culture statues (e.g., Superman, Elvis), Brooklyn road signage, and other tacky items.  Here is a metal cat chasing a metal squirrel up a tree on the sidewalk in front of said house.
