City Ponies

The 18th Avenue Italian saint festival is going on right now, and they have pony rides :)

SO MANY KITTIES!!!!

So yesterday I thought that I might have seen my last Bensonhurst cat. Boy was I wrong. When I walked to Heidi's house in Dyker Heights today I saw no fewer than FIVE cats!! So I am putting them here together.

First cat I saw was this one, in Dyker Heights:

Then, in Bensonhurst, I saw these two kitties sitting on a lawn:

Then a couple blocks further down the street I saw these two kitties:

Bryant Cat

Text from Heidi, who spotted this cat in Bryant Park: Kitten being leash and park trained in Bryant pk. His grandmom was holding the leash as she introduced him to various areas and he curiously amd cautiously explored. So fucking cute. I touched his tail n widdle chin.

Bay Ridge Kitten

Heidi sent me this kitty she saw in Bay Ridge!

Last Bensonhurst Babycat?

This just might be the last Bensonhurst cat that I'll post here to City Kitties since I will be moving before the month ends. But don't worry, there are still more New York City City Kitties to come... just from a different borough!

Little Lion

I saw this little orangecat hanging out in Park Slope earlier today when I was dropping off some stuff for electronic recycling. He reminded me of a little lion because of the way he was laying on the ground.

Update: Jimmy just sent me a way better pic of this kitty.

Mi Mi and Produce's Friend

Jimmy saw this kitty in Chinatown last week or the week before and I totally forgot to post it! It lives right near where Mi Mi and Produce live.

Punky

Jimmy sent me this keeeeet kitty tonight. He saw it on 5th Ave in Park Slope. It lives at Sage Spa, because it went in the cat door there after it got annoyed with Jimmy petting it.

Embarrassment

I went to Boston this weekend for my brother's college graduation. In the first floor of his building I saw a kitty sitting in the window, so I went to take its picture up close. Well, kitty decided to run away, then all I saw was a dude staring at me! I was super embarrassed and apologized, and he seemed okay about it. I think he heard me talking to the cat before I creepily tried to take its picture. This kind of thing was bound to happen at some point :-C

Slope Cat

Heidi sent me a picture the other day of a Park Slope cat. The picture was mostly black, but when I clicked the "fix" button in the photo viewer program on my computer you could see the kitty a little better. It looks very artistic and abstract :)

Bevy of Park Slope Cats

Jimmy went for a bike ride around Park Slope last night and saw soooooooooooo many kitties!!!!

This one below was very friendly, and Jimmy got to hold it.

City Kitties Travels: More Yosemite Animals

Jimmy just sent me some of his Yosemite animal pictures from our trip.

Here is a little squirrel who lived at our campsite. It got up on our picnic table in an attempt to steal some of our nuts. Here it is resting on the ground:

This squirrel was eating something like a pine cone:

And here is a better picture of the first deer with babydeer in tow:

City Kitties Travels: Fresno

I couldn't stay in my reserved campsite the first two nights I went to Yosemite because a wildfire rendered it inaccessible. Everything in and around Yosemite was either booked or exorbitantly expensive, so I stayed in Fresno where I met this little kitty by the hotel pool!

City Kitties Travels: Yosemite Animals

I went to Yosemite for a few days this past week and saw lots of wildlife. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of the wild cats but these are good substitutes.

Here is a suuuuuuuuper fat squirrel, and his normal-size friend, who lives at Glacier Point. I think it eats a lot of human snacks.

There were a lot of deer, too. They really weren't all that exciting to see--especially when they ran out in front of my car--since they were everywhere, but there were some fawns. The first fawn sighting was in Mariposa Grove where I saw a mom deer and her two baby deer. Can you spot their butts?

The last night I was there I saw this deer walk around the Curry Village parking lot with her baby.

City Kitties Travels: Wally

I spotted Wally in the Wallingford neighborhood of Seattle.

City Kitties Travels: Claudia

Claudia lives in a bookstore in Seattle. I tried to pet her but she wouldn't let me because she kept licking my fingers! Cuuuuuuuuute!!!!!!!!

City Kitties Travels: Ivar and Vito

I went into a pet store in Seattle last week and met these two kitties! Ivar, above, was super friendly, and Vito, below, was a little more skittish.
