Gatoperro

As I was walking over the Brooklyn Bridge last week I happened to notice this random graffiti.  Indeed, the catdog does exist.  It is Doodle!

Fête Paradiso Kitties

I went with my parents to Fête Paradiso on Governors Island this weekend and they had old kitty carousel... er... horses.  I'm not sure what to call them.  Carousel kitties?

Anyhow, Jimmy pointed out that the one below looks like Lil Bub with her tongue sticking out!

City Turtles

My parents visited me this weekend and, much to my father's chagrin, my mom bought two red eared slider turtles in Chinatown.  Scribble was particularly interested in them when they arrived at the apartment.

Five Years of City Kitties!

Today marks the fifth anniversary of City Kitties--quite the accomplishment!  As you can see, the blog is growing in posts thanks to friends and fans who so generously share their cat pictures with me, but it is also growing in popularity thanks to social media.  Be sure to follow City Kitties on Instagram and Twitter, both of which are @citykittiesnyc.

I will leave you with a picture of my two favorite babycats, Scribble and Doodle:

Simone

I was at a book club this evening at Mary's house in South Williamsburg when this adorable little black cat darted through the room.  Everyone was immediately distracted by Simone's cuteness.

Another Cat Family

Heidi sent me these cats last night.  Here is what she had to say...

"So these guys live in a pet store place by the Slope. The greyish one's Lucy - the momma.

The baby is playing with my headphones and eating - grampa calls her Mish Mish but her christian name is Penny.

The shaved daddy is Sugar - he's the stretchy awesome one. Montage!!!"

Cat Family

I was walking up Union Street in Park Slope last evening when I spotted a cat family!  First I saw this fat, little kitten, who I'm pretty sure is the one Heidi saw a few weeks ago:

Then I saw a cat who looked like she could be the kitten's mom:

And finally, this one with pretty markings dashed out to eat some of the kibble left in a bowl:
The odds of it being the dad are slim to none, but we can always pretend...

Isis, 2004-2013

Isis passed away early this morning, with her loving boymom, Jimmy, by her side.  Isis was a sweetum and we will miss her very much.

Girafa

One last gato Puertoriqueño from Heidi: giraffe cat!

Más Gatitos Puertoriqueños

Heidi sent me more cats from Puerto Rico!  The above is the Arecibo observatory kitten.

And here is the cat of the cavernas del río Camuy:

Epic Party Cat

I threw an epic party on Friday night for Jimmy's birthday.  It was so epic, in fact, that I had completely forgotten about this little cat we saw somewhere in Williamsburg as we were stumbling from one skee ball venue to another.

Morningside Park Kitties

Jimmy used to live near Morningside Park and he was hoping to see some of the many cats who call the park home when we were walking by yesterday.  Well, he was in luck because we saw a bunch!

Westie

Jimmy spotted this kitty in a ground-level apartment when he and I were walking down West 123rd Street in West Harlem last night.

Bootstraps

Kimberly and Will found Bootstraps when she was a homeless kitten.  They took her in, and a friend of theirs adopted her from them.  But now Bootstraps in back in her original home for nine months while her owner is away.

Pinot

Jimmy's friends Kimberly and Will had a post-wedding party at their apartment in Morningside Heights last night, so I got to meet their two cats!  Here is Pinot. He loves to eat chips!

Daphne

Jimmy's friend Will is out of town for the weekend with his partner Ben, so they asked us to visit Daphne at their apartment in south Park Slope.  She is super cute, and kind of looks like a little wild cat.
She also really wanted to go in the backyard.

Jody

You know what's awesome?  When random people on Instagram send me kitty photos.  vanhoek138 sent me this picture of Jody, who he says is his favorite store cat.  She lives in a dollar store in Park Slope :-D

Fred Astaire

Jimmy spotted this cat in an apartment window this evening as we were walking back toward his house after having a fancy cocktail in Gowanus.  He suggested that I name him Fred Astaire because he looks so dapper in his tuxedo.

Claws

The pet store across the street from Jimmy's apartment is closed for renovations, so he has been trying out other places to get cat food and litter in Park Slope lately.  The store he went to yesterday to get the essentials had this cat, who I named Claws.

But why on earth would I name this cute, cuddly cat Claws?

Oh!  That's why ;-P

Danny Boy

Jimmy saw this cat who is awaiting adoption at the Prospect Park Animal Clinic yesterday while picking up fluids for his cat Isis.  Danny Boy is very friendly and loving, Jimmy reported.
